The owner of Rocky the dog handed him over to the shelter because he couldn't take care of him anymore. Rocky still doesn't understand why he was abandoned, but he's accepted his fate. Montgomery County Animal Services staff immediately saw that Rocky was a very friendly and kind dog.

Rocky immediately proved to be a sweet, outgoing, and energetic dog. For an older dog, he is in great shape and spirits.

"Rocky is energetic for an older dog," Suzanne Hollifield, foster coordinator at Montgomery County Animal Services noted.

The doggie is extremely nice to people, and playful with other dogs. At first, the shelter staff thought it wouldn't be difficult to find owners for him.

But unfortunately, no one wants to take in Rocky. As the months go by, he still lives at the shelter, hoping that one day his owner will come for him. Although the staff just adore the pooch, Rocky is still waiting for a miracle and is ready to change his shelter life for a warm home where he will be loved dearly.

It's been 250 days since the owner brought Rocky to the shelter. Now the volunteers are doing their best to make sure this kind boy finally finds the loving home he definitely deserves. We wish Rocky would meet worthy owners soon. Be happy, old boy!
