Man spots baby squirrel running away from birds and decides to help. Infopun

Back in 2019 a man named Paul spotted a baby squirrel running scared from two birds along the roadside. He couldn't but help the poor thing.

The kind man rescued a tiny defenseless baby squirrel from the street three years ago. As he was driving to pick up his kids from school, he happened to see two birds chasing the baby squirrel. The 7-week old little one must have fallen out of her den.

Paul who is a disabled U.S. Marine Veteran immediately decided to step in and rescue the baby. He tried to shove the little one back into the den, but her mom didn’t want to have her baby back, no matter how hard Paul tried.

"I tried to put her back near her nest but her mother never took her back. And after waiting over 9 hours, I decided to take her to my place for the night. Tried to go to her nest again the next day but her mother didn’t want her," the man recalls.

The mother must have refused to accept the baby after her long absence. Then Paul took the squirrel with him. First he planned to leave her overnight. The next day he tried to return the baby to the den again, but everything was the same. Her mother wouldn't take her back. So the squirrel got a new home, Paul's place. She was named Stella, and the man continued taking care of her.

Paul planned to help Stella get old enough and then to release her back into the wild. But the squirrel had her own plans... When she got older, Paul tried several times to leave her outside where her fellow squirrels lived. However, each time the squirrel would return to Paul's place or run after him.

One day Paul realized that Stella would never leave him. "The time I realized she would never leave was when I let her climb up some trees and she would run around and have so much fun and still want to come back to me," the man says.

Is it really possible to resist such cuteness?

Now Stella lives with Paul. She is adored by everyone including Paul's kids, wife, friends and guests. Paul feeds his adorable pet with her favorite nuts, avocados, and other yummies. And Stella loves Paul most of all.
