Last year in Cebu, the Philippines, a local man named Jenrell was on his way home along a mountain road. Like other islanders, he rode his cycle.
Suddenly the man spotted a dog chasing him. Barking loudly the pooch tried to attract Jenrell's attention and ran so as to keep up with the motorcycle. Jenrell understood that there was some reason for the dog's unusual behavior. And he was absolutely right!
The man got off his cycle and followed the dog who seemed eager to show him something. A few minutes later, Jenrell reached the local junkyard, and the doggie started fidgeting around some discarded package. Indeed, the man was shocked when the package started crying.
Jenrell immediately called the police. The baby, which turned out to be a boy, was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the baby boy was perfectly healthy. Of course, in such turmoil everybody forgot about the hero doggie.
But the wonder pooch was found a week later in the same area. He even had a home. A local charity, Hope for Strays, came to the home of the hero's owners with gifts.
The dog was named Blackie. There were ten other dogs living in the house with Blackie.
The financial situation of Blackie's owners leaves much to be desired. But now the charity is sponsoring them as a reward for raising such an empathic and smart dog.
